Map 2 Fitness
Being FIT is not a destination, it’s a way of life.
Map 2 Fitness was founded in 2001 as an in-home, private training service. The sole purpose of its creation was to offer clients a customized fitness program that would move beyond the volume based one size fits all exercise programs found in most gyms.
Our training technique is designed with each client’s needs in mind. We consider one’s fitness level, lifestyle, and goals with each prescription. We work closely with each client to identify obstacles that may affect adherence to their program, and create realistic, achievable goals as a result.
The M2F Method integrates endurance, resistance, cardio and flexibility movements.
Multiple-muscle, functional exercises are the foundation of our program, utilizing the body’s own resistance. These movements teach the client how to balance, strengthen and maintain proper form on their own, rather than having their body locked into a position as one is with a machine.
Our sessions are creatively designed to be progressive yet keep you interested and challenged. We want you to work hard, but enjoy the process and look forward to each session.
Strength & Endurance
With strong, healthy muscles, you can be proud of your appearance and feel confident when accomplishing everyday tasks. Regular exercise with resistance increases muscle mass and changes your body composition, creating a lower percentage of body fat. This will help you lose and maintain a healthy weight. A lower body-fat percentage can reduce your risk of chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides and cholesterol, and increased blood-sugar levels.
Flexibility
Activities that lengthen and stretch muscles can help prevent injuries, back pain, and balance problems. A well-stretched muscle more easily achieves its full range of motion, which improves athletic performance such as a less restricted golf swing or an easier tennis serve. Functional abilities such as reaching, lifting and bending become more fluid during daily tasks. Activities such as yoga combine stretching and relaxation and also improve balance, a wonderful combination.
Weight Loss
Maximizing weight loss is to work smarter, not harder. You don’t have to train like an athlete to boost your body’s ability to burn fat and ultimately become leaner. An appropriate exercise program will escalate your ability to burn calories. Through aerobic exercise, the body must utilize a large amount of oxygen to burn calories. Conversely, anaerobic exercise uses short bursts of high-intensity exercise creating an oxygen debt. With effective heart-rate training, you can make your body more efficient at burning fat. This combined with a well-balanced diet is the best way to obtain long term weight loss.
