Janel developed a passion for yoga while searching for an outlet from her stressful corporate job. A friend recommended The Omega Institute, an educational wellness, movement and mindfulness retreat. After attending a one week program, she was left with an enriching introduction to mind-body therapies.

In 2007, Janel left her job and decided to focus on yoga. She soon discovered Thai Bodywork, and the many benefits it provided, so she decided to become a practitioner. She earned her first Thai Bodywork certification in New York, and later went to Chiang Mai Thailand to study with one of the masters.

It was not long before Janel started to use her newfound skills to help others. She became passionate about teaching methods to relieve stress, to become more aware of the body, and how to find peace from within. This inspired her to continue with yoga full time, and pursue her teacher training certification.

Twelve years after extensive training and acquiring several certifications, Janel is now known as an “Anatomy Connoisseur”. She not only teaches how to move, but why we need to move in a specific way. Janel is extremely tuned in to her students? alignment and form, and focuses on movements that relieve pain and stiffness.

With her light and encouraging spirit, Janel that makes students feel welcome at every level. She is a firm believer in the importance of the “Beginners Mind”: to always be learning, and always be growing. She believes this mindset makes one a better person as a whole.

Janel’s specialties include: Core Vinyasa Yoga, Beginner Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Acroyoga, Guided Meditation and Thai Bodywork.
